EXES Studio is a photography company established in 2001 with its main focus in providing photography services for wedding events.
Since its inception, EXES Studio has been providing a different brand of wedding photography for couples to be in Malaysia. Always on the forefront of creative and artistic photography, Patrick Low, the founder of EXES Studio, quickly gained popularity within the industry. In 2006, Patrick was accepted as a member of the prestigious Wedding Photo Journalist Association (WPJA) which is an international association of wedding photo journalists. Since then, Patrick’s undeniable ability in his craft has been recognized time and again by WPJA in the form of 8th place (Best Silhouette Shot), 7th place (Best Ceremony Shot), 10th place (Best Silhouette Shot) and 20th place (Best Detail Shot) competitions.
During this time, Patrick along with founders of Camwork Photo and The Photoz formed Signature Photographers with the intention of drawing on one another’s experiences and resources for the collective betterment of the group. Together, through their many collaborations and joint activities, the 3 studios achieved a realization of the many aspects that was involved in Wedding photography. They continued pushing forward to focus and improve on those areas through the very same methods of idea sharing and joint activities organization. The Signature Photographers initiative proved beneficial and in September of 2007, Patrick was awarded 1st prize in the Good Light Competition and is ranked as one of the top 10 photographers for the 2nd quarter of 2007 by WPJA.
In having been awarded this prestigious prize, Patrick now holds the distinction of being the first and only Malaysian thus far to be awarded a top prize in a WPJA sanctioned competition. He is also only the 3rd Asian to have been awarded with such a prize. For Patrick, what was and still is amongst the most important factors in helping him to reach this level of achievement is his philosophy of not looking upon photography as merely a job, but as a medium to channel his creativity and to live his passion.
